Morning guys!
You know how we all have better things to do every day than working on our assignments for uni? Well, I certainly do :) So let me tell you the story of my last week.
On Thursday morning I turned on my laptop at about half 9. Like all responsible students, the first page I opened was Breo. Well, not really...to be completely honest, the first page I opened was Facebook and I didn't really open Breo until half 11. I had two seminars that day and I thought I might have something to do for both of them. You can imagine my shock and surprise when I found that I actually had something to do for both of them, and it wasn't just reading. I actually had a lot to do! And instead of actually doing something, I started panicking. I had one assignment which included 6 small tasks that I was supposed to submit that day which seemed impossible to do, and another small assignment that I was sure I wouldn't have time for if I were to submit the other one.
I started working on the first task of the first assignment and managed to finish the 1st one, and I thought I'd go to the seminar and try to explain to the tutor that this was the first week, I didn't understand exactly what had to do so I didn't really submit it, where as for the second assignment, I didn't have time to do it because I worked on the first one. So I go to the seminar, try to explain, and I found that we were not actually supposed to do all 6 tasks. We were only supposed to do the first one, and submit one of the tasks in the assignment every two weeks. Ohh, you can't even imagine how happy I was. % minutes before I thought I would have the toughest time this year, and now it was just one task every two weeks!
Do you know what I did next? I started underestimating my opponent (in this case the assignment) and I was so sure it will so easy I will finish the entire thing in one day. Saturday morning I started working on it rather early (considering it was Saturday) and after four hours I still did not finish task 2. And thus began my second panic attack :) I managed to finish the task Sunday evening, and I didn't even proofread it yet. I must admit I have a new found appreciation of what appears to be a very simple and small task.
I was thinking this morning...what if I hadn't wanted to finish it all in one day? I probably would have started to do it this morning and would have never finished it on time.
My advice for future assignments? Never underestimate them! Consider them the most difficult ones you have had and finish them as soon as possible. You won't believe how much free time you'll have on your hand when you're not rushing for the deadline!
With the hope I'll see you again soon, I send you all my love and support!
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask!
Love,
Maddie.
